Container stuffing is the process of loading goods into a container ready for transportation by road and rail or ship, for distribution worldwide.

At Fred Davies Storage, we recognise that pre-planning how the goods will be loaded into containers is essential. We give our customers the benefit of our experience, knowledge and security to maximise 20ft or 40ft containers. Understanding the type of cargo to be loaded, along with weights and maximum payloads is essential. 23-24-euro pallets or 20-21 standard pallets will maximise 40ft containers.

Container de-stuffing can often be mistaken for a clear-cut ‘just get it unloaded – and quickly’ part of a warehouse’s operation; but in actual fact it requires a lot of pre-planning and careful organisation, particularly when dealing with many different sized items or bulky, awkwardly shaped goods. The safety of our staff and that of others is paramount and something we take very seriously.

It is common practice now that goods won’t have been palletised. We are seeing larger volumes of loose-loaded containers that maximise overall space during shipment. This creates a huge need for organised and efficient container de-stuffing. We have very experienced, long-standing, well-trained staff as well as the methodical know how to create maximum efficiency when re-palletising the goods.

With the correct stringent ISO processes in place and well-trained staff, this gives customers the security that their goods are being handled safely, thus reducing any potential damages, So contrary to popular belief, container de-stuffing is not just about the arrival of goods, but an important part of the supply chain in warehousing with proper training essential for staff who handle it on a day-to-day basis; as we do here at Fred Davies Storage.
